74% people of the 21st century are suffering from a disease which unfortunately has no cure. The disease being none other than the infamous PISTANTHROPHOBIA the fear of trusting people; Its origin is usually in the root levels of childhood; may be due to physical or mental abuse or maybe due to wasting their time on the wrong people who kept on breaking their trust.
People seem to take this very casually but what they don't know is that even if you're a borderline pistanthropist, you have high chances of committing suicides or fall into the traps of depression or loneliness.
This category of people are often misunderstood, primarily because they end up pushing people away. Their walls are built so high, that, it's difficult for people to deal with them. They are difficult people, and do not often let people in. Even when they do, they are always cautious, always watching out for signs that might prove their suspicions to be true. They suffer from constant paranoia. These people usually have abandonment issues, if you're friends with people who are suffering from the same, the last thing you should do is leave them alone. The only remedy for this issue, is, therapy. If they're surrounded by people, who, recognize their insecurities, and help them deal with it. It can get better.
The thing about these species is that they have layers. You feel as if, you know everything about them, when in reality, you know only as much as you're supposed to know. If you're the one who's suffering from pistanthrophobia, tell yourself that yes, there are people out there who'll break your trust, but that isn't a reason enough to constantly push people away. Eventually, people will give up, in spite of loving and caring about you, they will give up, 'cause by doubting them, by not opening up to them, you're only causing them pain. It's okay to have a small circle of friends, whom you can trust. Have a little faith. Don't judge everyone's motives. There are people out there, who are just trying to look out for you. The world we live isn't exactly all sunshine and rainbows, but, it isn't that bad either. Life is too short, stop thinking or rather over thinking about situations. Let loose, live a little, trust wisely, don't bottle up your feelings, and give people a chance to prove their love for you. Accept their love, care and concern, 'cause if there's anyone out there who deserves it, it's you. You are special, you are loved, there are people out there, you can trust. It might be a little difficult, in the beginning, but in the end, it'll be worth it. Smile and laugh, dance to random songs, sing, even if you sound like a dying whale. You've holed up yourself for very long.

It's time, time to get over your worst fears. Having said this, it does not mean that, you start trusting every tom, dick, and harry you meet. Live the way you like, and love the way you live. I'm not promising you, that everyone will live up to your expectations. But, for those few who will, people who won't give up on you, who'll care about you for the rest of your life, it's a risk worth taking. 'Cause at the end of the day; what is life, without risks? Take a leap of faith. Believe. You're the creator of your own destiny. You can either choose to be miserable, or choose to be happy. Everyone has trust issues, but does it imply that you completely stop having faith in people? No. If everyone starts thinking along those lines, social life would cease to exist. Agreed, that every time you think about trusting someone, your past seems to haunt you. But, then again, it just means you need to be careful and not just stop, just remove your emotional ties with people, and behave as if, you're some robot. Its okay to get hurt at times, its okay if people break your trust, its okay if you make mistakes, and you’re only a human. Whatever has happened, or is going to happen, happens for good. There is some ulterior motive, why things work out the way they do. Years from now, you'll be able to join the dots. But, for now, don't give up on people. Trust them. Let people heal your inner scars. Let people try and fix you.
